We know now why your flesh is turning into bone

They finally found the genetic mutation that causes FOP--a condition that causes a person's soft tissue to gradually change and become bone. I once had a friend with this disease. People with FOP generally die young after a years-long, painful process of having one's own organs crushed beneath their expanding, uncontrollable bones. Very sad, but very rare.

Isn't that stephen hawkings disease?

Sounds horrible, it's a bizzare natural cruelty to inflict on any form of life.

Stephen Hawking has something completely different, called ALS, which didn't affect him much until college. FOP starts right away, and you wouldn't be able to live to his age with it.

I thought he was supposed to be dead by 18 so it made me make a connect that was illegitamate. Sorry.

Either way the "sounds horrible, it's a bizzare natural cruelty to inflict on any form of life" stands.
