Nightmare About Blogging

I dreamt about this blog last night. In the dream, a hacker broke into my account, filled the blog with pornographic images and embarrassing things I would never write, and then made it impossible for me to log in and change it. Do all bloggers have dreams like this at some point?

I've been known to have dreams about writing on my blog, or reading other peoples' blogs, all night long. Exhausting!

What kind of pornographic images?

Your dreams are very vague.

You need to start dreaming in more detail.

I don't blog, but I comment a lot, and, I'm so off the cuff, I don't bother remembering what I typed into a comment.

So sometimes, (not nightmare) but I wake up and check my news, and blogs, and I think to myself "OH MY GOD!!!! Did I tell one of my cruel D@#K jokes about Cubs fans on a gay blog?" or "Did I talk about how I can't help but find a value in my friends analysis of 'I love my wife, so, if she wants to take a strap-on to me? I won't like it, but I think I will do it" on a fundamentalist blog?

Or "did I talk about baseball while calling Soccer a sissy game? on a pro-soccer site?"

It isn't a nightmare, mostly because I know that if I did any of those things it would be my own fault.

But I know the fundamental apprehension that rises in the gullet of anyone who gives themselves a voice, only to think that their voice is misunderstood or usurped.

True story. Not even a story, it's a fact.

I have VERY vivid dreams. I often take care of a lot of basic handyman kinda work at my brothers house, and I stay there for whole weekends, or weeks, depending on the situation. I wake in the morning, and I do NOT say a word to my brother, because, I am so prepared for the task I am gonna do for him, that I don't know if I already mentioned it. My brother knows this (it's happened since I was a kid) and he comes down, and figures out that I'm silent, and he says "no, we haven't discussed it." and thats how a lot of "task based" conversations occur between myself and my big brother.

He's a big brother, a DAMN GOOD ONE! so he understands, the world should hug him :)

The hacker had to have been the Nino who's been spamming your father's site. That's deep, man.

Maxine: There was more detail to the actual dream. Is there any particular reason you want a description of the pornographic images?

The general theme was of things being posted against my will that would be personally embarrassing to me, so it had to do with anxiety about being under "public" scrutiny. All of that is ironic given my declining traffic.

Oh cmon don't be so morose.

Your traffic isn't declining.

I count as five people, minimum.
